BrainPost Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Brainpost, LLC ("BrainPost", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at https://brainpostio.com and our web app at https://app.brainpostio.com. Today we use only cookies needed to run the Service and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not currently run analytics.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and scripts that read device information. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these.
- First-party cookies and storage are set by BrainPost.
- Third-party cookies are set by another company, such as Stripe or Cloudflare.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies stay for a set period.
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary. Needed for the Service to work and cannot be switched off. They keep you logged in, protect your account, run Cloudflare Turnstile bot checks, and let Stripe process payments securely. These do not need consent.
Functional (preferences). Remember choices you make, such as light, dark or system theme, whether the AI assistant is shown, the workspace you last opened, and unsaved post drafts. Your language and timezone are saved in your account, not in your browser.
Referral attribution. When you arrive through a Refer & Earn link, we store the referral code for 30 days so we can credit the person who referred you when you sign up.
Third-party content: Google Fonts. Our website and web app load fonts from Google. When they do, your browser connects to Google's servers and sends your IP address and browser details. This may not set cookies, but it does share data with Google.
Analytics and advertising (not currently used). We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add them in future (for example, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel), we will update this policy first and, in regions that require it, including the EU, UK and Nigeria, ask for your consent through a banner before setting them.
3. Cookies we use
BrainPost does not set any cookies of its own. Instead, we use your browser's local storage (kept until it is cleared or you sign out) and session storage (deleted when you close the tab). Third parties may set cookies on their own pages, as shown below.

We also receive information from social platforms and Google when you connect accounts or use Google Sign-In. That happens through their authorisation screens, which are covered by their own cookie policies.

4. Managing cookies
Consent. When you first visit our website, a banner lets you choose Accept all or Essential only. Strictly necessary cookies are always on. Optional cookies, such as analytics or advertising cookies if we add them in future, are only set if you choose "Accept all". You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the website footer.
Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you logging in and using the app. Guides for common browsers:
Global Privacy Control. Where required by law, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information and of non-essential cookies. We do not sell or share personal information today.
5. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when we change the cookies we use, and change the "Last updated" date above.
